smaitthariq.sch.id- Have we ever realized how much food goes to waste every day, while in other parts of the world and even around us many are still struggling against hunger? The issue of hunger often feels distant and tedious to discuss if it is only presented as theory in a classroom. However, the students of the Grade 10 Student Tech Leader at SMAIT Thariq Bin Ziyad have a different approach. Under the guidance of their mentor, Mrs. Siti Aisah, S.Pd., they have successfully transformed the food crisis issue into an interactive experience that evokes empathy through game-based learning media.
The Innovator Team Behind the Scenes This digital project was born from the creative collaboration of students across different classes:
Andrea Putri Queenie (Class X-8)
Virsya Hasna Nabilah (Class X-2)
Halimah Kariim Azhaira (Class X-4)
Fittryzka Kezia Shamira (Class X-6)
Rafeyfa Mudhiah Aihiro (Class X-6)
Hanania Ghaida Khanza (Class X-8)
Transforming Theory into Empathy
The core issue of hunger and food waste is the lack of emotional connection. We often ignore it because we don’t feel the direct impact ourselves. Through this interactive game, students are invited to:
- Bridge the Understanding Gap: Comprehending the complexities of food security not through lectures, but through decision-making within the game.
- Internalize the Value of Food: The game is designed to shift our perspective on appreciating every single morsel of food we consume.
- Inspire Real Action: Beyond just playing, this project encourages every player to start reducing food waste and begin caring for those in need.”
The Role of Creativity and Mentorship
This project serves as tangible proof that project-based learning can sharpen students’ social awareness. As a mentor, Mrs. Siti Aisah, S.Pd., played a crucial role in guiding the students to ensure that the game elements remained aligned with educational values and the second point of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): Zero Hunger.
This collaboration of technology, creativity, and empathy proves that Grade 10-6 students are capable of producing digital solutions with real social impact. Through this game, we want the message of Zero Hunger to not only stay in the mind as knowledge but to sink into the heart as empathy and ultimately manifest in the hands as action.

Join Us in Supporting and Making a Difference!
We invite the entire school community, parents, and friends to witness a new experience in understanding the issue of hunger through this innovative work. By understanding the problem interactively, we hope that we can all become more mindful of our food consumption and contribute to those in need.
